Are you frustrated? Wondering why God makes us wait for our dreams to be fulfilled?
A while back, the Lord gave me a vision.
He showed me a huge rolling wave coming toward me in the desert. It was very, very large but very, very far away.
He informed me, “In this wave are all of your dreams and desires.”
He warned me, “Do not run to it or it will overtake you and you will drown.”
He encouraged me, “When it arrives to you it will be like where the ocean meets the sand and you will be able to wade into it without being overwhelmed.”
Many of you who are waiting on your dreams to be fulfilled, but your desire seem to evade you no matter how much you try.
Sometimes the reason God makes us wait for by is because we aren’t ready for it!
If you had your way it might crush you. Be thankful that your dream delays because it is for your protection and HIS glory.
I’ve been frustrated by dreams that don’t come to fruition as fast as I’d like. It is a challenge to wait, not run and let it come to me, but there are some things we can do while we wait.
Prayer is something we all need to do more of, but it is especially important when you are waiting on a dream to be fulfilled. Pray specifically for your dreams. Ask God for exactly what you want, let no stone go unturned in prayer.
While you let God know your desires, pray that he will show you his desires for your dream.
Some other things to pray for:
- Pray for opportunities to present themselves
- Pray that your heart is ready for the responsibility of your dream
- Pray for the right people to come alongside you in work
Because of my previous eating disorder, I only do full fasting when I’m certain God has called me to it, but partial fasting is also a great way to refine your heart while waiting. If we aren’t willing to fast for our dreams, are we really serious about them?
A great book about the different types of fasts is listed below in the ‘We Recommend’ section below this post.
While you wait, refine whatever craft you are dreaming of doing. For me, I continue to learn about blogging and writing by following people that are doing it better than I am. If you want to be a speaker, read books about speaking. If you want to open a store, listen to podcasts by successful business owners. (I list some recommendations for specific crafts below).
If you are waiting for ‘Mr. Right’ – learn how to be an excellent wife!
There is always more to learn. Spend your time waiting for your dream to come true by becoming an expert at your craft.
When Waiting Is a Sign of Something Else
Sometimes a dream gets put on hold because of sin. Sin holds us back from living in the fullness Christ promised us. If you are hoping for a dream to come to pass but there’s something in your life that isn’t up to par there is one thing to do when there is a sin you can’t shake.
I hope and pray that the Lord moves in your life so you can live your dream Without Regret and give glory to the Creator!
