The Christian Response to the Momentum of the LGBT

Many people might be reading Matt Walsh’s newest blog about his letter to Planet Fitness where a transgendered man walked into a women’s bathroom because that is where he was more comfortable. When a woman complained she got the boot from the gym.

You also might be reading about the little old lady who didn’t serve flowers for a longstanding patron’s gay wedding and got sued. Maybe you are reading about how the Benham brother’s lost their HGTV show because of their “anti-gay” remarks.

If you haven’t, let me sum it up: the politically correct agenda is coming down hard on people that don’t uphold certain values that the liberal media deems worthy.

Add these current trending news events with lawsuits against Chik-fil-A and Hobby Lobby and we are looking at the climax of an ongoing cultural war between two ideologically different groups. And to onlookers, those who hold to a Biblical worldview seem like they are getting raked across the coals…at least that is what the media portrays.

If you’ve read all these reports and are heartbroken because you want to adhere to God’s word but don’t know if there is any hope left to change the world with the love of Jesus AND defend our rights given the current political climate, I want to encourage you!

It’s all a ruse…no, no…not like a conspiracy-type ruse, but rather one from a much darker place.

You see, we see the symptoms of a very active beast — Satan. He’s bucking and neighing; ready to trample, or so it seems.

I want to remind my people, my brothers and sisters in Christ, that wild animals attack most violently when they feel threatened.

Satan wants us to believe that he is winning. And he’s trying VERY hard to fool us.

But we know better. He is not winning. He won’t win. He can’t.

I want to remind people of this profound idea: There is reality, then there is the truth.1

Reality says that we are pressed. Truth says we are not crushed. Reality says that we are persecuted. Truth says we are not abandoned. Struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Co 4:8)

Remember that we don’t war against people, but powers of darkness. Unlike the beast, the people on the “other” side are only pawns that Satan will chew up and spit out once he’s down with them — even the worst of the worst are children that God came to die for!

We need to remember that during this time, when we are standing up for righetousness’ sake (and we should!) that there are millions of hurting people in the stronghold of Satan’s grasp. Satan wants us to think that he’s got them completely deceived and therefore immune from our Gospel message, but I want to declare that THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE VULNERABLE!

Despite what even they themselves might say, they are hurting. There IS a void in their hearts. Some will protect that hole with vigor and hate. But love, true love, can and will burn hate away like the virus it is!

The group as a whole may protest, but a chain is ONLY as strong as its weakest link, and I assure you that there ARE some very broken links in Satan’s chain that need the wholeness that only Jesus can give.

Look, friends! The field is white with harvest!!! (John 4:35)

Go, forth!

Thank you for the truth, the Word of God. Jesus won the victory over Satan and his demons when He died on the cross. Jesus told believers He lives in them and the Holy Spirit lives in them (John 17). Even when we are persecuted because of our faith, Jesus continues to bless us, He will never leave us or forsake us. In my life I have real stories of how Jesus has come to me when I was persecuted for my faith. One story is about a persecutor who was an angry Christian who hid behind her knowledge of the Word of God but did not understand her anger was not good because it did not allow understanding and love. I served Jesus when I worked for her, she attacked me for things I never said or did. Then she fired me because I lovingly gave her scriptures on how much Jesus loves her. Four years later I received a call from her and she was crying, telling me she was sorry for the way she treated me. I told her I love her because Jesus loves her and I forgive her. She still calls me today for wisdom….I tell her to get to know Jesus more and more because He has so much for all of us, to the glory of God, our heavenly Father.
