What My Blog Looked Like Before and After Elite Blog Academy

My EBA Journey: What My Blog Looked Like Before and After Elite Blog Academy

Since being in the very first group of EBAers, my blog evolved tremendously with Elite Blog Academy.

First Go-Round with Elite Blog Academy in 2014

I signed up in 2014 (first class) for Elite Blog Academy.

After some blog assessments, I realized that my blog was too dark. It had a white background for the text, but it was still dark overall.

I was really into the houndstooth pattern…what can I say?

I also had been focused on the name “Super Rad Christian Writer Chick” which was confusing and too me-focused instead of audience-focused.

So, as you can see in the photo below there were a couple other detractors from my blog like:

  • Inconsistent fonts
  • Cutesy Titles that didn’t tell audience what I was actually writing about
  • An email signup form with no incentive

My Pinterest Before EBA

As you can see from my blog, my Pinterest images are all over the place font-wise and the size not vertical which is what is recommended.

Ruth’s course really focuses on what works and what doesn’t for Pinterest.

My branding was inconsistent and my pins not the classic vertical pin that does better on Pinterest.

That was fixing to change…

Website After EBA (First Time)

As you can see my site’s branding went from SuperRadChristianWriterChick.com to RadicalChristianWoman.com…which was a pain to change over URL’s but better late than never!

I also included an email incentive which increased my email signups by a zillion percent. (Okay, I don’t actually know the percentage…but it went from like 3 people to WAAAY more and growing).

I was able to decrease my workload by simply choosing two fonts for all my images.

My post titles became more focused, which drives more traffic to my site overall.

My Pinterest Account After EBA (First Time)

After EBA, I made sure to use stock photography photos that had a clean and fun feeling.

My pins were vertical.

My fonts consistent.

My branding consistent.

But there were still some problems like:

  • Too many colors overall.
  • Images don’t have any consistency in “vibe”

My Website After EBA (Second Time)

My current website has way more consistency.

Not only did I focus my email incentives (increasing my subscriber signups), but I also revamped my logo, navigation, added consistency in my photo effects, and added a store for increased revenue…not to mention a good headshot!

Working on focusing high-performing in-post ads has increased my blog’s revenue tremendously as well.

All these tips and trick came, not only from EBA, but watching and learning from the entire EBA community.

My Pinterest Account After EBA (Second Time)

My pins became more consistent looking with the addition of a Photoshop action.

I softened everything up once again because that seemed to be performing better on Pinterest than darker images.

I continued to focus my blog posts on those that had performed well in the past, based on Ruth’s recommendations in EBA.

My Elite Blog Academy Redesign Journey

In conclusion, Elite Blog Academy helped my blog become more focused on what I wanted to accomplish.

The cool thing about EBA is that once you are in the EBA family, you are in it for life.

All new updates, you get access to.

You get the community, which is really useful and grows with you.

There are additions and bonuses.

And the only way you can become an affiliate for EBA is by being in EBA (and completing it and finishing an affiliate bootcamp).

Ruth’s methods and business practices are what make her course “elite.”

The price point of the course eliminates any casual bloggers, which is exactly what makes it “elite.”

I’ve been in other blog courses, but I keep coming back to Ruth’s over and over again.
